Mission and Vision

Mission and Vision

  1. The Femina foundation dedicates its work to the rights and integration of women who came to the Netherlands as a refugee or migrant. How?Femina makes women aware of their rights and duties in the Netherlands. This is done by providing information in the form of trainings, courses, workshops and meetings.
  2. Femina wants the society, and the politicians to be aware of the difficult situation in which many women find themselves in when they come to the Netherlands as a refugee or migrant. This is done by providing information, by raising awareness at meetings and by actively engaging in direct conversation.

The first step is to openly discuss the faced oppression and violence. Only through open communication change can happen. An important aspect is the connection between the two sides, women who ask for help and local authorities and organizations who provide help. Therefore, Femina represents the bridge between these two parties, the help seekers and the social workers. Femina is there to fill in the gap between the social services and the public policy.

  3. Femina dedicates its work to women. The main focus points are prevention and combat against relational and honour-related violence and abandonment, in and out of the domestic sphere. Relational- and honour-related violence occurs in the form of physical, psychological and sexual violence.

Femina and its partners provide active support for these women. An example of this is the Social Consultation hour where they are helped by a woman with the same background.
